We have seen a jump of almost 50bps (0.50%) in one day. Some of the Lenders are still hovering around the 3.99% range, but the majority of them are at 4.09% and upwards to 4.49%There is so much activity, that Lenders are struggling to keep up with the demand of new mortgage applications. Variable products were KING at the beginning of the year. It was well worth getting into a VARIABLE than a CLOSED FIXED Mortgage. We now rates as low as 5.10% for a five year term. Plus the Variable product may start to look desirable again as the rates drop on that side. The Lenders have dropped the Prime + 1% to Prime + .60%.
